USS Yorktown PG-1 - Plan of Spar, Forecastle, and Poop Decks
The forecastle and poop decks on Yorktown were the uppermost decks and were not a single unbroken deck. The Poop deck was the aft upper deck and the forecastle the forward one. Amidships was the spar deck, one level below and with some open overhang from the decks above. The poop deck was also the main deck, being the upper-most continuous deck, and is marked as such in the transverse cross sections in the upper center of this sheet.
